Blueprint
Challenge:
The client needed an immersive visual identity for a student retreat that could capture and sustain the attention of a middle-school audience. Given the serious and awkward nature of the topics being taught, the design system needed to feel approachable and cool enough to build trust, while providing clear cues to help students focus during extended teaching sessions.
Solution:
I collaborated closely with the 24Seven student ministry team to deliver a comprehensive "Blueprint” theme that connected every aspect of the event. This strategy focused on assets that students, leaders, and volunteers would interact with physically and digitally to anchor their experience.
Implementation:
I designed a t-shirt with longevity in mind, which was included in what all attendees received. By including both the 24Seven brand and retreat theme, I made sure the shirt remained a relevant piece of apparel that students would continue to wear after the event ended.
To combat session fatigue, I created a custom animated intro and a presentation template featuring blueprint elements. These visuals served as high-energy transitions that signaled new segments and kept the audience engaged.
I produced a themed booklet that served as a guide for the students. This allowed the aesthetic to move from the screen and into the students' hands, giving a consistent workspace for notes and reflection.
