Illustrations - The Spiritual Power of Money
Challenge:
The client needed a series of conceptual visuals to illustrate the complex and invisible influence money has on human behavior. The goal was to move beyond imagery involving physical currency and represent the psychological pull of wealth.
Solution:
I developed a visual metaphor featuring money as a monstrous green hand that acts as a puppeteer that physically manipulates scenarios. This hand is riddled with holes to represent the inherently fleeting nature of money.
Implementation:
I illustrated the hand constructing a bigger and more noticeable home next to a smaller one, symbolizing the constant cycle of desiring a bigger and better lifestyle that is always out of reach.
I depicted the hand propelling an high-cost, high-maintenance boat, visualizing how money often forces us into a cycle of upkeep rather than true enjoyment in the fruits of our labor.
To represent the constant pursuit of the "next thing," I showed the hand pulling a nice car along a road, emphasizing how resources are always directed toward the next destination or purchase.
